AKG C451B
Originally introduced in the late 1970s as part of AKG’s modular condenser system and later revised as the C451 B, this microphone has become a studio standard for detailed, precise capture of fast transients.
SONIC CHARACTER:
Bright and articulate, with fast transient response and a focused, forward high end. The low frequencies remain tight and controlled, while the mids are clear and well-defined. The sound is precise without feeling thin, making it highly effective on percussive sources.
OUR USE:
Hi-hat, acoustic guitar, percussion, drum overheads, strings and detailed spot miking. Chosen when clarity, definition and transient accuracy are essential. Less suitable when a rounder, thicker or more forgiving character is required.
